Machine Relocation Planning Checklist for Malaysian Factories

Machine Relocation Planning Checklist for Malaysian Factories

Successful machine relocation in Malaysia starts before lifting equipment arrives. Factory teams should review the machine information, both sites, the internal route, equipment selection, transport arrangement and final installation responsibilities as one coordinated plan.

1. Record the Machine Details

Confirm the manufacturer, model, dimensions and estimated weight. Identify removable components, sensitive sections, lifting instructions and any known centre-of-gravity information.

2. Inspect Origin and Destination

Measure doors, corridors, turning areas, ceiling clearance and final installation space. Review floor levels, loading access, gradients and support conditions.

3. Plan the Internal Travel Route

Remove obstacles and identify overhead services, floor openings, pinch points and shared pedestrian areas. Confirm suitable turning space and planned stopping points.

4. Select Suitable Equipment

Equipment selection may include cranes, forklifts, gantry systems, hydraulic jacks, machinery skates, lifting beams and rigging gear. Capacity, headroom, lifting radius and ground conditions all matter.

5. Prepare the Machine

Coordinate shutdown, isolation and disconnection with authorised personnel. Secure loose parts, protect sensitive components, and label cables, hoses and removed items for reassembly.

6. Coordinate Loading and Transport

Confirm the transport vehicle, loading orientation, support points, weight distribution and securing method before the machine reaches the loading area.

7. Control the Work Area

Establish clear roles, one communication method and controlled exclusion zones. Stop work if the load, equipment or route behaves differently from the agreed plan.

8. Confirm Final Positioning

Agree the required orientation, operating clearance, levelling, alignment, connections and commissioning responsibilities before unloading begins.
